Kelly Malakoff, owner of Kelly’s Doukhobor Foods, grew up loving the Doukhobor Heritage and all the amazing foods that have inspired her to preserve this heritage.
Kelly was raised on a farm which instilled a strong work ethic. Kelly has used this ethic to start and grow a successful business.
Although she has been making the Traditional Borscht all her life, she has only been selling commercially for 15 years.
This company started as a home based business and has gone from selling product locally to being in over 100 stores throughout BC.
Our product is not produced in a factory. We are a small family owned business located in the heart of the Slocan Valley. We take pride in producing a top quality product in our certified commercial kitchen. Food safety is our priority. We have a recall and food HACCP plan in place.
The authenticity of our product comes from the fact that it is done in small batches using fresh local ingredients. Everything is done the old fashioned way from chopping veggies to filling and labeling jars.
The one thing that has made us successful as a company is the ability to listen to our customers.. Our product is Gluten free and made in a 100% gluten free environment. We have increased our line to include Traditional Borscht, Spinach Borscht and Vegan Borscht. Our product is available in glass jars by the case or frozen bags by the case. We can be found in the Deli area or freezer section at your local grocery store.
